Surf instructor
Nature of the position
The surf instructor is in charge of teaching surfing to beginners and advanced surfers alike. From children's groups to private lessons for adults and club training, the instructor must be able to adapt his or her teaching methods to each individual's level and expectations.

Education and experience
In order to teach, surfing instructors must hold the Brevet d'Etat d'Educateur Sportif (BEES) 1er degré, surfing option. The 2nd degree is required to be a Departmental or Regional Technical Advisor, and the 3rd degree to be a national coach. At federal level, the Fédération Française de Surf offers diplomas that enable you to lead, teach and supervise surfing activities for club members on a voluntary basis:
Brevet d'Animateur Fédéral de Surf (leading and promoting activities offered within the club)
Brevet d'Initiateur Fédéral de Surf (initiation for club members)
Brevet d'Entraîneur Fédéral de Surf (coaching members of federal clubs)
