Sports trainer
Nature of the position
The sports trainer (coach) is the specialist teacher of the discipline for a rider or team. Working in partnership with the physical trainer, he or she draws up a work program, often on an annual basis, to improve the athlete's performance, balance and resistance to injury. His or her working methods vary according to the athlete in his or her charge, and also according to the areas he or she is developing: strength, stamina, flexibility, speed, etc. He or she integrates all the components of the athlete's life (sporting and academic performance requirements, professional/personal life, relations with the school/athletic environment, etc.).
