PUBLICATION OF THE 2024 OUTDOOR SPORTS INDUSTRY OBSERVATORY
OSV, in partnership with the Département de la Haute-Savoie, has published the 2024 edition of the Observatoire de la Filière des Sports Outdoor. This study offers a detailed overview of the industry, highlighting its significant contribution to the local economy, its international dynamism and its capacity for innovation.
The outdoor sports industry continues to evolve in a context of contrasts. On the one hand, growth is on the upswing, with 536 companies registered in 2024 (+2% since 2021), 1,270 brands (+8%) and a healthy increase in the market. Employment follows this dynamic, with 6,832 jobs, up 11%, and total sales of 5.74 billion euros, up 22%.
But this development is accompanied by economic tensions. The post-Covid legacy is still weighing on the sector, with high inventory levels cited as the main obstacle to growth by 39% of companies. Consumption, at half-mast, remains a major concern for 44% of industry players.
